Camp Meeting 2016 - Junior division

I've just spent 2 weeks in a tent helping take care of 80-90 kids a day (with 120 on the Sabbath), doing, what I describe as "VBS 3 times a day for 10 days". In other words- FUN!!

Here are some pics of our 'Kingdom Kids' in J1.

I spent weeks making things to put up in the room.

These shields were hung all around the room.
All made from recycled materials. 😉

Then I made the banner...

In progress...
Done!!

See, I have proof we spent 2 weeks in a tent. 😁

Here is some of what I had to pack to take with us to Camp Meeting.

The building of a Castle.

Doesn't look like much yet...

90% done...

Looking better?

The kids loved it!!

Our prayer wall was used a lot too.

We had a super fun slip & slide 2 of the days during Camp as well.

We had some wonderful story tellers... Here is Ms Linda!

Our cool 'Professor Wolf'!! Pastor EJ did a great job with fun science experiments for us.

Stanley Maxwell telling us stories in our Chapel in the Pines.

Our Sabbath welcome to J1.

And all that fun means... I crushed my step goals! 😄

See you next year in J1 for more fun at Michigan Camp Meeting!

What has been keeping me busy while I wait for new books...

I am in charge of out Kindergarten 1 class at church. This Quarter I am leading out with the crafts... so every week I am looking for ideas, and dreaming up ways to make the story real for the little 3 - 4 year olds. It's fun!

Here are some of my ideas for this quarter:

Noah's Ark
You take a small paper plate, spray paint it brown and cut it in half, then staple the 2 halves together at the rounded edges. Viola! An Ark. :D

Now you take a sheet of paper and cut little paper people - I used the old according style fold and cut method to make 8 people for our Ark. Totally Biblical - eh?

Here comes the best part!
We took Baggies (the snack sized ones) and put animal crackers in for the animals on the Ark. An instant hit! Yay!!

Noah's Ark - done!

Spring!

So - I think it may be (almost) premature to say spring has sprung... but it's trying!
The crocuses are coming up... I'll try to get a photo of them once they are more then a tiny purple bud half out the ground. :D

My boys are enjoying the warmer weather - at first they were crying because of the snow melting. Lol! They were sad 'cause they could not sled anymore. But they have been biking all week (so far) and loving it. There go their blues about the snow melting!

I am looking forward to reviewing a few books for you... I'm going to the Library soon and hope to go thru some new books. Watch this space!

Well... I'm off to do the dinner-thing. Will try check back later~
